UCI held its second annual Giving Day on April 25, 2018, encouraging Anteaters to come together and support their favorite programs. The CHP is fortunate to have an extraordinary community of supporters who give back to the program to directly impact CHP students. A group of alumni, parents, and friends—including alumni Michael and Kimberly Ong (’93 and ’95), the Ball, Dubridge, and Totoiu families, and an anonymous donor—led the way by generously contributing funds for a multi-gift challenge totaling $35,500. The challenge generated a great deal of excitement with 149 CHP alumni, parents, and friends giving gifts that not only unlocked the challenge, but exceeded the goal of 130 gifts and raised a total of $43,631! These gifts will support many of the extra-curricular and academic opportunities that are intrinsic to the CHP experience. This includes everything from CHP traditions like Coffee Hour and the annual camping retreat to funding for students to present their research at conferences and curriculum support, to name a few. Many thanks to everyone who participated for helping us provide an outstanding honors experience to CHP students!
