Karissa Sorenson

I am grateful to be working with the amazing staff and students in the Campuswide Honors Program as an Honors Advisor and excited to be a part of such a wonderful community at UCI!

I graduated in March 2013 from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with the my Bachelors in Liberal Studies, which provided me with the background in interdisciplinary ways of thinking and the foundation to become an educator. In May 2015, I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with my Master’s degree in College Counseling/Student Development. I truly enjoy supporting students personally, academically, and professionally.

As a student leader at Cal Poly Pomona, I was President of the Rose Float program my senior year where I collaborated with a diverse team to design, construct, and decorate a float for the annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. I have also worked in the Career Center and the César E. Chávez Center at Cal Poly Pomona, the Admissions Office at Claremont McKenna College, the Judicial Affairs Office at Pomona College, and Office of the Campus Pastors at Azusa Pacific University.

Originally, I am from Covina, California. Being new to Irvine, I definitely love what Orange County has to offer and cannot wait to discover what is in the area. In my free time, I enjoy watching I Love Lucy reruns, satisfying my inner foodie (continuously searching for the best Pad Thai), going to concerts (favorite artists/bands: Ellie Goulding and Florence and the Machine), and spending time with family and friends.

Please stop by the CHP Office any time to say hi. I look forward to getting to know you!
