Brandon Golob

I’m honored to serve as the Associate Dean of our distinguished Campuswide Honors Collegium (CHC). Throughout my time at UCI, I’ve been drawn to CHC’s culture of care – the students, staff, faculty, and alumni are truly a special community.

I’m originally from Las Vegas but completed all my postsecondary education (BA, UC Berkeley; JD, UCLA School of Law; PhD, University of Southern California) in California. I’ve had academic and professional stints elsewhere (New York City, Washington DC, Budapest) but always come running back to the California sunshine. In addition to my role as Associate Dean, I’m faculty in the department of Criminology, Law and Society (CLS), where I teach several different courses (e.g., Constitutional Law, Social Media and the Law, Hate Crimes, Deviance, Media Effects on Law and Justice). I love having as many CHC students as possible in my CLS courses so please join! I also conduct research on inclusive education and media effects.

As is probably clear from my teaching and research, I’m a massive media (and music) fan. When not on campus, you’d probably find me at a concert or binging Netflix with my dog Bruce. I look forward to chatting with you at CHC events, in my office, in class, and beyond. Never hesitate to come up and say hi if you see me (or Bruce) around campus – delighted to talk all things CHC and what’s currently on your Spotify playlists!
