Frequently Asked Questions

Campuswide Honors Collegium (CHC) Waitlisted Students Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Campuswide Honors Collegium (CHC) waitlist work?

A: If you received an invitation from UC Irvine regarding the waitlist for the Campuswide Honors Collegium, you must accept placement onto the CHC waitlist in order to be considered. Please click on your response at the bottom of the invitation to let us know whether or not you would like to be on the CHC waitlist. We need to hear from you either way! Choosing not to participate in the CHC waitlist or the Campuswide Honors Collegium does not affect your UC Irvine admission. The waitlist is not a numbered list, so priority consideration is not given to those who fill out the form early.

Q: How many students will be invited to be in the Campuswide Honors Collegium off the CHC waitlist?

A: CHC waitlist decisions are based on space availability in the CHC. We do not have an exact number that will be invited to join the CHC from the waitlist.

Q: How can I know my spot on the CHC waitlist?

A: The CHC waitlist is a pool of applicants. Applicants are not numbered or ranked on the CHC waitlist.

Q: What can I do to increase my chances of being selected from the CHC waitlist?

A: Submitting the CHC waitlist form is the only step you need to take. Selection for the CHC is based on your UC Irvine Application. No additional information or submissions will be accepted.

Q: When will you release CHC waitlist decisions?

Campuswide Honors Collegium waitlist decisions are based on space availability in the Campuswide Honors Collegium. Please see your invitation for the date by which students will be informed of their CHC waitlist status.

Q: Can I appeal a CHC waitlist decision?

No appeals for the CHC waitlist will be considered. However, if you are not invited to the CHC through the waitlist, you are encouraged to apply to the CHC once you become a UC Irvine student. (See question below on how to apply.)

Q: What if I am not invited to the Campuswide Honors Collegium. Can I apply later?

Yes, we encourage you to apply to the CHC, after completing one quarter as a full time student at UC Irvine. Many students enter the CHC this way.
