CHC + UCI Law Pathway
Current CHC students and recent CHC alumni are invited to participate in the following opportunities with the UCI School of Law:
These opportunities are a result of a collaboration between the CHC and the UCI School of Law to develop a pathway for CHC students to advance their academic interests in this field.
3+3 Honors Collegium Law Program
The 3+3 Honors Collegium Law Program will enable qualified high achieving students to complete an undergraduate degree and JD degree within six years, rather than the usual seven, significantly reducing the cost of education.
CHC students and alumni admitted to the 3+3 Honors Collegium Law Program will receive BOTH:
- A $30,000 tuition scholarship (for both residents and nonresidents) each year to offset tuition and fees of attending UCI Law as long as they remain in good standing.
- Mentorship from an upper-division UCI Law student or UCI Law alumni.
Honors Collegium Law Scholarship
CHC students and alumni awarded the Honors Collegium Law Scholarship will receive a $30,000 tuition scholarship (for both residents and nonresidents) each year to offset tuition and fees of attending UCI Law as long as they remain in good standing.
Current Student Eligibility
To be eligible for the Law Scholarship and/or the 3+3 program, current CHC students must:
- Be projected to have a minimum UGPA at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering JD class of the prior year (UCI GPA projection will be calculated by CHC)
- Anticipated median GPA for UCI Law’s 2023 entering class: 3.75 UGPA
- Have a minimum LSAT score at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering JD class of the prior year
- Anticipated median LSAT for UCI Law’s 2023 entering class: 167 LSAT (as calculated by the Law School Admissions Council – LSAC)
- Be on track to completing all CHC requirements, determined by CHC based on:
- Cumulative UCI GPA + your year in school
- Reasonable plan to complete all required CHC classes as demonstrated by approved course plan to graduation
- Reasonable plan to complete CHC research and thesis as demonstrated by honors thesis proposal and/or submission of approved honors thesis)
- Be nominated by the CHC
- Complete CHC + UCI Law Pathway Interest Form by the given deadline in order to be eligible for nomination if you are also meeting GPA and CHC requirement components
- Apply to UCI Law and fulfill all other criteria for admission into UCI Law through the law school’s usual admission procedures.
- Applications to UCI Law may be submitted as early as September of the year preceding the year in which the prospective student wishes to enroll in UCI Law.
- Prospective students are encouraged to apply early, as seats are filled as the season progresses. Binding Early Decision applications are due no later than November 15 each year. You are not required to apply to UCI Law for Binding Early Decision to be eligible for the Law Scholarship or the 3+3 program.
Students admitted to the program must accept and submit the required confirmation form no later than April 1 or forfeit the scholarship. Students not admitted through the 3+3 Program may still be considered for admission to UCI Law through the regular admissions process.
Alumni Eligibility
To be eligible for the Law Scholarship and/or the 3+3 program CHC alumni must:
- Have a minimum UGPA at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering JD class of the prior year
- Anticipated median GPA for UCI Law’s 2023 entering class: 3.75 UGPA
- Have a minimum LSAT score at least equal to the median for the UCI Law entering JD class of the prior year
- Anticipated median LSAT for UCI Law’s 2023 entering class: 167 LSAT (as calculated by the Law School Admissions Council – LSAC)
- Be certified as completing CHC (or on track to completing all CHC requirements), determined by CHC
- Be nominated by the CHC
- Complete CHC + UCI Law Pathway Interest Form by the given deadline in order to be eligible for nomination if you are also meeting GPA and CHC requirement components

Admitted students who are Honors Collegium alumni with credentials higher than the required minimum LSAT and UGPA requirements may be eligible for additional scholarship assistance. Admitted students with credentials lower than the required minimum LSAT and UGPA requirements may still receive substantial scholarship assistance.
