Greetings, Campuswide Honors alumni!
My name is Matt Princetta, and I have been helping Campuswide Honors and other units of the Division of Undergraduate Education with philanthropic giving for the last five years as Director of Development. Our units and programs like Campuswide Honors are what sets UCI apart from other universities. I’m proud to have the opportunity to work with alumni, and to fundraise for great programs like the Campuswide Honors Collegium!
I’m pleased to announce that this month we will be launching the Honors for Honors (H4H) Campaign https://honors.uci.edu/h4h/, aimed at supporting and enhancing the outstanding honors experiences that you know well, and which change students’ lives. We decided to begin this fundraising campaign to encourage alumni to become involved as Campuswide Honors donors and volunteers. It’s time to recognize that UCI is a model for honors education, and in order to do that, we need the participation of our alumni. I want to acknowledge the moment we are in, and understand that launching a campaign in a pandemic is not something we are doing lightly. A campaign like this one is about participation and coming together as alumni to assist Campuswide Honors, and there are a number of different ways to participate, including volunteering to become an Alumni Ambassador.
Our goal in this campaign is to encourage 600 Campuswide Honors alumni to become donors in any amount. If we reach this goal, over 25% of Honors alumni will have shown that the Honors experience is secure for future generations of Honors Anteaters.
Here is how you can become involved in the Honors for Honors campaign:
Donate or Pledge
All gifts in any size to the H4H campaign are appreciated! If you find yourself in position to do so, consider making a pledge to give for the next five years to offer the stability needed to plan for current times and the future as well. Gifts over $500–or $100 for five years–will put your name on the Alumni Honors Wall in the Campuswide Honors suite in the newly created Student Excellence Center. (Special offer for recent alumni who graduated in the last five years: you can give $100 or $20 for five years and be listed on the donor wall.) Become a Campuswide Honors Alumni Ambassador
With the help of our Campuswide Honors Alumni Ambassadors, led by Michael and Kim Ong, we are trying to reach all Campuswide Honors alumni personally. If you have a network of Campuswide Honors alumni friends, please contact me to become an Honors Ambassador or spread the word about the campaign.
Engage in a little friendly competition
As an added incentive, we have split graduation classes into five year class blocks and will track how each group is doing. So get involved and represent your class year!
