What is Honors Experience Day?
This is an invitation-only event for students invited to join the Campuswide Honors Collegium that introduces you to the Campuswide Honors Collegium, UCI, and the schools and majors. You will meet honors faculty, staff, and students, and have the opportunity to take a tour of the campus and to attend sessions on honors housing and on financial aid. This event is taking place during a school day. Because the campus is busy, we advise attendees to plan plenty of time for parking and check-in.

PLANNING FOR HONORS EXPERIENCE DAY
Will I be able to attend an honors class at this event?
We are excited to offer a sample Campuswide Honors class to all attendees during the opening session of the event.
I have not declared a major yet. Will there be an information session for me at this event?
There will be a break-out session for Undeclared students, which will introduce you to special opportunities for you to explore majors and access resources to support your academic and personal success.
I would like to bring more than one guest, or a friend. Is this possible?
Unfortunately, due to space limitations, we are only able to allow one guest, usually a parent or guardian. Since this is an event for students who have been invited to join the Campuswide Honors Collegium, we cannot accommodate friends. There are other ways your friends can get to know UCI. Further information about UCI is available on the Admissions website.
I am a person with a disability and need reasonable accommodation for Honors Experience Day. What should I do?
Please email the Campuswide Honors office at honors@uci.edu, or call us at (949) 824-5461 to request reasonable accommodation. A member of our staff will get back to you during regular business hours. Please be sure to let us know about your needs ahead of time, as we may not be able to accommodate last minute requests.
What if I have to leave early or arrive late? Can I still attend a portion of the event?
We recommend attending all of Honors Experience Day to get to know honors at UCI. If you must leave early, we recommend staying though the Campuswide Honors and major specific information sessions, which end at 11:15 a.m. If you have an unavoidable travel-related conflict and must arrive late, please notify us at honors@uci.edu by March 1.
What if I can’t attend this event?
Attendance at this event will not affect your eligibility to be in the Campuswide Honors Collegium. If your schedule has changed and you are no longer able to attend Honors Experience Day, please use the link at the bottom of your confirmation email to edit your registration. Also visit our website for more ways to learn about Campuswide Honors.
Another option is to attend UCI’s annual open house and admissions event, Celebrate UCI on Saturday, April 18, which includes tours of the campus and housing, plus the opportunity to meet representatives from UCI’s schools. There will be a Campuswide Honors information session in the morning. Please watch your email and UCI Applicant Portal for further information about this event.
NAVIGATING HONORS EXPERIENCE DAY: WHAT TO EXPECT
What should I bring with me?
Bring along a pen and paper to take notes, and a water bottle. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for the campus tours.
Where can I eat lunch during Honors Experience Day?
The Student Center has two food courts with many options for lunch. If you would like to sample dining in the residence halls, we recommend Brandywine dining commons, located in the Middle Earth housing community, or The Anteatery dining commons, located in the Mesa Court housing community.
When is the day scheduled to end?
The formal program ends at 11:15 a.m. Campus tours, and information sessions on Honors Housing and Financial Aid will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
I have questions about financial aid and/or scholarships. Who should I contact?
We encourage you to attend one of the Financial Aid information sessions at Honors Experience Day, taking place between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Another resource is the Office of Financial Aid’s prospective student webpage. You may also contact the Office of Financial Aid at (949) 824-8262 or log on to MyAid.
